I just cut off the tip of my thumb.

I was prepping a marinade for pork chops, & the knife slipped. It only needed 4 stiches. Slightly graphic images next.

My dad cut off the the tops of his fingers on the table saw. It was right at the first nuckle. They only managed to see in the middle finger so he has a permanent bird on his left hand.

Hmm a couple things:

They reattached the tip I don’t know how much that’ll affect your sense of touch long term. When I cut the tip off my finger many years ago I threw the piece in the garbage, It eventually grew back with no loss of feeling, today I can’t even tell which finger it was.

Are those your work shoes? Because sandals aren’t safe for kitchen work. You don’t want to risk another injury.

Hey, a cut-thumb buddy! I got four stitches on my right thumb when I gashed it on a bandsaw at my previous job. Good thing I didn’t cut the whole thumb off.

It’ll probably be fine once it’s healed. I deg lo ved my left index finger up to the cuticle a few years ago. It was a 27 stitch repair, and included utilizing the nail as a sewn on “platform” to shape the tip. It works just fine now. Is just a little less “plush” on the tip than it o nce was.

Yeouch! Welcome to the club! I managed to slice/smash off the ends of two fingers in two separate events. Feeling came back in the smashed one, but the other is still numb 20+ years later. Yours doesn’t look too bad. As long as it didn’t kill the nerve, you should get feeling back in time. Good luck!

i did the same thing to my middle finger while working at a sub shop. Went to the hospital to get fixed up and they asked for the other piece . I was like uhh..... shit we couldn’ t find it.
